This is along MARSH LANE and this photo was taken in May 2005 . All the old street lights were replaced in 2005 and there were a lot of these cast iron posts in this village . Old street lights were 4.5M cast iron posts with control boxes on the top of them and these have got 2 doors on them . 1 door is for the fuses and the other door is for the RTE P42 controller unit . The lanterns were GEC ZZ5590 lanterns ( direct voltage Mercury bulb bc cap , less gear , RTE P42 2 part photocell ) and these were installed in the middle 80s . Before these GEC ZZ5590 lanterns were top entry open lanterns ( GLS bulb bc cap , less gear , timeswitch ) . New street lights are 4.5M DW WINDSOR CHESTER posts with DW WINDSOR IFFLEY lanterns ( 42W CFL , integral gear , miniature 1 part photocell , DIAMOND OPTIC reflector ) .These have got a 42W CFL (42W PLT Bulb) in the lanterns .
