These Christmas lights are along the HIGH STREET and this photo was taken in DEC 1989. These lights are made by  Irvine Martin Lighting Ltd . The bulbs are coloured GLS bulbs . All these lights are being fed from inside the buildings  .

The streetlights are wall mounted  THORN ALPHA 3 lanterns (semi-cut off type bowls , integral gear, SON-T bulbs, Nema socket photocells ) .The old streetlights were 8M Concrete posts with fluorescent lanterns and there were some suspended ones as well.

The streetlights are wall mounted   HOLOPHANE WALL PACK lanterns ( SON-T Bulbs , integral gear ) and these are being replaced with new URBIS RADIAL 2 Flood Lights ( SON-T bulb , miniature 1 part photocell , integral gear ) and there are mounted about 6M. Some of the town centre is being done up in 1995-1996 with new paving , streetlights and CCTV cameras .

This is along QUEEN STREET and this photo was taken in DEC 1995. These christmas lights are brand new in DEC 1995 and these new lights are in the whole of the town centre . The bulbs are white bulbs . All these christmas lights are being fed from inside the buildings  .

The streetlights are 8M posts with a THORN ALPHA 3 lanterns (semi-cut off type bowl , less gear , SONT bulbs , 2 part photocells ) and these were group switch and in the early 90s new 2 part photocells was installed in each post .   In the late 90s these old streetlights were replaced with new ones . These are  8M DW WINDSOR AMAX posts with  DW WINDSOR HOOP TRADITIONAL brackets and with top entry DW WINDSOR STRAND lanterns ( SON-T bulb , integral gear , Diamond Optic reflector  , teardrop bowls , miniature 1 part photocell ) .

These Christmas lights are control by a timeswitch which is in the bottom of this 10M lamp post and this was installed in DEC 1996 .

The street lights posts are 8M BRITISH STEEL with THORN ALPHA 8 lanterns ( made of plastic ,SONT bulbs,integral gear,2 part RTE P42 photocells) and these were installed in 1986-7 .The old lights were 5M GEC octagonal tapered metal posts with post top GEC ZD10598 lanterns ( MBF Mercury bulbs , less gear , 2 part RTE P42 photocells ) .
