These Christmas lights are along the HIGH STREET and this photo was taken in DEC 1994 . These Christmas lights are controlled by timeswitches . The street lights along this Pedestrian area is 8M metal posts with post top THORN GAMMA  3 lanterns ( SON bulbs ) and on 5M posts post top globe lanterns ( SON bulbs ) . All the old street lights were 8M CU PHOSCO ( CONCRETE UTILITIES ) Avenue 2D concrete posts with a Arc 2D brackets with a side entry GEC Z8524  lanterns ( SONE bulbs, less gear , 2 part RTE P42 photocells ) and these lanterns were painted blue.In the 80s these concrete posts were changed to metal posts.In the 90s most of the old GEC Z8524  lanterns were changed to THORN ALPHA 8 lanterns ( SONT bulbs, integral gear , Nema socket photocells,plastic lanterns) .
