THE MUMBLES

This is the junction of MUMBLES ROAD ( B4433 ) , MUMBLES ROAD ( A4067) and NEWTON ROAD (B4593 ) and this was taken in Year May 2003 .

All these lights are group switch and about every mile along this road there are control boxes and the lamp post next to it has got a photocell on the lantern . My guess is this photocell controls each section of lights .I have not seen any lights with photocells  in SWANSEA and my guess they done it there as well.

This is a 10M metal post with 2 GEC Z8526 lanterns ( SON-T bulbs , semi-cut off bowls , less gear ) . This GEC Z8526 lantern is also known as a SIEMENS MRL5RA lantern .
GEC did made a integral gear version of this lantern and it was a GEC Z8536 lantern and is also known as a SIEMENS MRL5A lantern .
