GAS STREET LIGHTS PHOTO PAGE This page is has got some photos of GAS STREET LIGHTS in ENGLAND.
Years ago when gas street lights were first installed ,someone have go to turn them on when it gets dark and in the morning they have to turn them off.
Then they started to put in clockwork timeswitches in the lanterns to turn the lights on and off . Clockwork timeswitches last for between 15-24 days before they need winding up .
You can now buy modern photocell controls for the gas lights now and these work of batteries and the batteries last for around 1 year before they need replacing.
SUGG make a modern photocell controller and they called it this --- GAS LIGHT OPTO/CLOCK CONTROLLER MODEL 9911
