BOGNOR REGIS , SUSSEX

This page is about some STREETLIGHTING in BOGNOR REGIS in SUSSEX . BOGNOR REGIS is on the south coast of ENGLAND.

 1987

This year this was my first time at BOGNOR REGIS and most the street lights posts were made of concrete. Most of these are Stanton and Staveley 10 concrete posts .

Most of the town centre lanterns were made by GEC 8524 side entry less gear lanterns with Rte p42 type photocells with SON bulbs. Along the sea front the lights were 12M high Stanton and Staveley 10 concrete posts with post top GEC ZD10517 less gear lanterns with Rte p42 type photocells with SON bulbs .

Alot of the side roads had post top GEC Z5699/80 lanterns and these were painted brown .

 1990s

When I visted BOGNOR REGIS during the 90s ,I noticed a 8M concrete Stanton and Staveley 10 concrete post with a GEC fluorescent side entry lantern in ARGYLE ROAD and most of the lights along the sea front have been changed to SUGG and D.W.WINSDOR heritage posts and top entry lanterns with SON-T bulbs .

 2000

When I visted BOGNOR REGIS during AUGUST this year , the 8M concrete Stanton and Staveley 10 concrete post with a GEC fluorescent side entry lantern which is still working is still along ARGYLE ROAD.

Along SCOTT LANE ,the last time I been along this road ,there were 3 GEC Z8454 fluorescent lanterns and one of the was replaced with a post top PHILIPS SGS101 lantern with a SON-T bulb and a Nema socket photocell.

I found a lot of roads with 5M post top GEC Z8454 fluorescent lanterns and the roads names are SOUTH DOWN ROAD,CAVENDISH ROAD , BASSETT ROAD, ST WINIFREDS CLOSE and VICTORIA ROAD.

Its looks like the council is replacing some of the lanterns to post top PHILIPS SGS101 lanterns and some of the roads near the sea front has got all new lanterns.
