SOUTHPORT, MERSEYSIDE

1986
In the town centre the posts were cast iron posts with THORN ALPHA 3 lanterns ( integral gear) . Some of the side roads , there were some 5M STANTON AND STAVELEY concrete posts with swan neck brackets . On these posts are top entry THORN BETA 5 LANTERNS ( 35W SOX bulb) . Most of the posts were painted with a blue paint for the base while the rest of the posts was painted white . Along the PROMENADE the posts were 8M cast iron posts with double brackets with THORN ALPHA 1 lanterns ( 90W SOX bulbs , less gear ) .
1995
When I went to SOUTHPORT again all the lanterns have been changed along the PROMENADE with new top entry heritage lanterns with new brackets and these were on the old cast iron posts.
A road ( NEVILL STREET ) just of the PROMENADE , has got some new heritage cast iron posts with top entry heritage lanterns ( new type optics ).
On some of the side roads ,there is some new 6m metal posts with post top WRTL 2600 lanterns ( SON-T bulbs , Nema socket photocells ).
Alot of the posts in SOUTHPORT have been painted with red paint for the base for the post with a cream colour for the rest of the post.
