The street lights are 10M Fabrikat metal posts with THORN ALPHA 4 lanterns ( 135W SOX bulb , less gear , Nema socket photocell ) and these were installed in 1982  and the posts were painted white . During the years , there is now some replacement posts and PHILIPS MA50 lanterns ( 135W SOX bulb , integral gear ,less gear , Nema socket photocell ) .

The old street lights were 8M concrete posts and 8M metal posts .Some of the lanterns were side entry THORN ALPHA 3 lanterns and some other side entry lanterns .

 This is along NIGEL PLAYFAIR AVENUE and this photo was taken in Dec 2008 .

The street lights are 5M metal posts with THORN BETA 79 lanterns ( 70 W SON-T bulb , integral gear , metal type , Nema socket photocell ) and these brackets and the THORN BETA 79 lanterns were installed around 1977-8-9 .

Around 1977-8-9 HAMMERSMITH side roads street lights were changed and all the old brackets were changed with new ones on old posts . The new lanterns are the THORN BETA 79 lanterns ( 70 W SON-E bulb , integral gear , metal type , FISHER KARPARK ( FPK ) SS4 Nema socket photocell ) .

The old lanterns were side entry lanterns ( 2ft Fluorescent tubes , timeswitches ) . You can see some of these old street lights in the in the titles of the SWEENEY TV progamme .

Part of the QUADROPHENA film was filmed in HAMMERSMITH in 1979 .  You can see the lamp posts with the new brackets and the THORN BETA 79 lanterns .
