Main Roads -

Year 70s - The streetlights were 8M Concrete Utilities ( CU PHOSCO ) 25FT ( 7.62M ) HIGHWAY X concrete posts with 10 degree Fluorescent brackets . The lanterns were side entry GEC Z8387 AB Three Eighty lanterns ( 5ft 80W Fluorescent tubes , timeswitches ) . In the late 70s the timeswitches got changed to Nema socket FISHER KARPARK SS8 photocells .

These street lights were replaced in the early 80s .

Early 80s - The new streetlights are 10M metal posts with side entry THORN ALPHA 8 lanterns ( SON-T bulbs , metal type , integral gear , Nema socket photocells )  and the posts were painted grey .

Year 2000s - Some of the streetlights got changed to new ones .

Side Roads -

Year 70s - Alot of the streetlights were 5M Concrete Utilities ( CU PHOSCO ) 15FT (4.57M ) Byway X concrete posts with 15 degree brackets . The lanterns were side entry GEC Z8243 ( TWO FORTY ) lanterns ( 2 2ft 40W Fluorescent tubes , timeswitches ) .

These GEC Z8243 ( TWO FORTY ) lanterns were replaced in the early 80s . The new lanterns were post top CU PHOSCO P355 CHELSEA lanterns ( SON bulb , integral gear , RTE P42 2 part photocell )  .

90s - Most of the 5M Concrete posts were changed with DW WINDSOR 5M CHESTER metal posts .The new lanterns on these new posts were post top CU PHOSCO CHELSEA CORONET lanterns ( SON-E bulb , integral gear ,glass refractors , miniature 1 part photocell ) .This is a customised version of the P109 lantern for Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea council . This has got a different top on it from the standard P109 lantern .

Early 2000s - Most of the CU PHOSCO CHELSEA CORONET lanterns got changed with new lanterns . The new lanterns is a new design of the post top CU PHOSCO CHELSEA CORONET lanterns ( MH bulb , integral gear , reflector , miniature 1 part photocell ) .


 

 

 

 

 

 

 This is along EXHIBITION ROAD and this photo was taken in 1999 .

The old lanterns were on these posts were side entry GEC Z8387 AB Three Eighty lanterns ( 5ft 80W Fluorescent tubes , timeswitches ) . In the late 70s the timeswitches got changed to Nema socket FISHER KARPARK SS8 photocells .These GEC Z8387 AB Three Eighty lanterns were replaced in the early 80s with the THORN ALPHA 3 lanterns .

Around year 2000-2004 these street lights were replaced with new ones .

This is next to the science museum .

EXHIBITION ROAD is in 2 council areas . One of them is Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea council and the other westminster council .

In the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea council area , the street lights are 8M Concrete Utilities ( CU PHOSCO ) HIGHWAY X concrete posts with THORN ALPHA 3 lanterns .

In the westminster council area , the street lights are 8-10M REVO/GEC metal posts with side entry THORN ALPHA 8 lanterns ( SON-T bulbs  , integral gear , Nema socket photocells ) . The lanterns before the THORN ALPHA 8 lanterns  were REVO? lanterns ( 5ft 80W Fluorescent tubes , timeswitches ) and these were replaced in the early 80s .

The streetlights are 10M URBIS metal posts with top entry URBIS ALBANY lanterns ( Cool White MH-T bulbs , teardrop bowls , miniature photocells , integral gear ) .

Before the council replaced all the old street lights along here ,the council replaced just 4 and each one is a different design of post and on each posts were different design of lanterns . After a while , the council chose 1 design  and replaced all the street lights along this road with this design .

This is next to the science museum .

The streetlights are 10M DW WINDSOR metal posts with top entry DW WINDSOR STRAND lanterns ( MH-T ? bulb , integral gear , Diamond Optic reflector  , teardrop bowls , miniature 1 part photocell ) .
