This is at the junction of Gonville place and Hills road .This photo was taken in 1991.

8 M metal post with side entry BTH open lantern (90W SOX bulb , less gear ) . When I been along this road in 1998 all these lights have all gone and the new lights were 10M posts with side entry brackets with URBIS ZX3 SON-T lanterns.

YEAR 1991

8 M metal posts with side entry Fluorescent lanterns . When I been along this road in 1998 all these lights have all gone and the new lights were BRITISH STEEL 10M posts with URBIS ZX3 SON-T lanterns.

YEAR NOV 2003

The posts are BRITISH STEEL 10M metal posts with post top URBIS ZX3 lanterns ( SON-T bulbs , deep bowls , black colour canopy , NEMA socket photocells ) and the posts are painted black . This was taken Nov 2003 .

A close up of a side entry WRTL MRL 6 lantern ( SON-T bulb , semi-cut off bowl , Nema socket photocell )  with a bracket. This bracket was for a side entry Fluorescent lantern and sometime this Fluorescent lantern was changed to a WRTL MRL 6 lantern .

YEAR NOV 2003

 This was taken at night and the lanterns are CU PHOSCO P290 LARGE BANDED SPHERE lanterns ( SON-T bulbs , miniature 1 part photocells ) and these are mounted at 8M on the walls.

YEAR NOV 2003

6M REVO cast iron posts with a post top REVO RICHARDSON CANDLE lanterns and some of these are wall mounted . There is a lot of these along this road and these lanterns have got four 5ft 80W Fluorescent tubes in them. There is a new 8M metal post with a PHILIPS SGS 203 lantern ( SONT bulb , NEMA socket photocell ) .

There is one 6M REVO cast iron post with a post top REVO RICHARDSON CANDLE lanterns and there is a lot of these are wall mounted along this bit of road and this was taken at night.

YEAR 2000

This is a close up of a new experimental lantern . It is a copy of a REVO RICHARDSON CANDLE lantern and this has got a MH bulb at the top of it instead of four 5ft 80WFluorescent tubes .This is the only one in CAMBRIDGE . There is a drawing of this lantern on the CANDELA web site.

YEAR 2000

A wall mounted side entry REVO JUNIOR SOLETERN FLUORESCENT lantern ( two 2FT 40W Fluorescent tubes ) which is mounted at 5M. This lantern is on during the day .There are 2 of these along the path .

UPDATE NOV 2003 = These 2 old REVO JUNIOR SOLETERN Fluorescent lanterns have now been replaced with PHILIPS SGS 201 lanterns ( SONT bulbs , integral gear , NEMA socket photocells ) .


 

 

 

 

 

This is along  MILTON ROAD (A1309 )

YEAR NOV 2003

This photo was taken facing towards the A10 -A14 roads . This was taken at the junction of FRASER ROAD with MILTON ROAD (A1309 ) . From FRASER ROAD to the A10 -A14 roads the posts are 12M octagonal tapered metal type with PHILIPS MA 60 lanterns ( 180W SOX bulbs , less gear , NEMA socket photocells ) .

From FRASER ROAD towards the city centre alot of these posts are 8M posts and these have got a old REVO control boxes at the bottom of them. These old post were for gas lanterns and when these old gas lanterns were changed with new electic lantens , they put in new brackets which raise the mounting height of these new lanterns .

There are some new MALLATITE LTD SENTRY range of 8M metal posts and the lanterns on these are PHILIPS MA 90 lanterns ( 90W SOX bulbs , less gear , NEMA socket photocells ) .

On these old posts are side entry AEI/BTH lanterns ( 90W SOX bulbs, less gear , NEMA socket photocells ) and some PHILIPS MA 90 lanterns ( 90W SOX bulbs , less gear , NEMA socket photocells ) .


 

 

 This is along  CHESTERFIELD ROAD

YEAR NOV 2003

There is one REVO JUNIOR SOLETERN Fluorescent lantern ( two 2FT 40W Fluorescent tubes ) which is on a 5M metal post. This is a close up of this lantern.

The rest of the lanterns along this road is side entry GEC Z9530M ( less gear , 35W SOX bulbs ) , GEC Z9536M ( less gear , 35W SOX bulbs ) . This road is next to FRASER ROAD .

(This is off TRUMPINGTON STREET )

YEAR NOV 2003

There are some UNKNOWN ( REVO? ) Fluorescent lanterns ( 2FT 40W Fluorescent tubes ) along this road and they are mounted at 5M on the wall along this road.
