WOBURN,BEDFORDSHIRE

This is a Village in bedfordshire and I been there in the spring 2000 .The Street lighting is very old . The posts are 4-5M cast iron with the control boxes at the top of the posts . There are now some modern posts ( metal and one concrete) . The posts are not very close together . The bulbs in the lanterns are mercury bulbs . They used to have timeswitches in them , in 1976 they changed them to one part Photocells and I think with Nema sockets? Its look like they could be conduit ones and there are some RTE p42 photocells . Most of the lighting is Top entry lanterns , some side entry lanterns and 2 post top lanterns.

The 2 post top lanterns ( PHOSCO P111 ) is in the centre of the village where there is a crossroads junction . One of them is on the wall and the other one is on a 5M CU BYWAY NX concrete post.

When I visited WOBURN again in June 2005 , all the cast iron posts and most of the brackets have been painted black . Along LEIGHTON STREET (A4012) there is a new lamp post . The post is a original REVO 5M MOSELEY cast iron post with a CU PHOSCO P516 ALBERT SQUARE lantern . This has got a glass refractor in it . On one of the REVO C14410T lanterns is a new miniature 1 part photocell in it.

The streetlight is a 5M cast iron post with a REVO PREFECT lantern ( mercury bulb , less gear , 1 part photocell ) . The photocell is on the lantern facing the road . This has now been painted black.

This is along the main road next to the TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE .

The streetlight is a 5M cast iron post with a GEC Z5591 lantern ( mercury bulb , less gear , RTE P42 2 part photocell ) . This has now been painted black.

This is along GEORGE STREET (A4012) and this was taken in Year spring 2000 .

The streetlight is a 5M cast iron post with a ELECO HW852 lantern ( mercury bulb , less gear , 1 part photocell ) . The control box is made by BLEECO .

This has now been painted black .

This is along LEIGHTON STREET (A4012) .

The streetlight is a 5M cast iron post with a REVO C14410T lantern ( mercury bulb , less gear , 1 part photocell ) .

On the left this was taken in 2000 and on the right it was taken in June 2005.
