GEC Z9538M lantern

 

 

This is a GEC Z9538M lantern .This is a integral gear lantern and this has got a  35W SOX bulb in it .This has got a NEMA socket in it with a SELC 841 photocell .With this lantern you can use 35W or 55W SOX bulbs in them.

This lantern was installed in the late 80s .I bought this lantern in 2002.

 

The bulb is nearly at full output.

 

 Along this road  all the posts and lanterns were replaced with new ones in 2002 . New posts are 6M CU PHOSCO hocky sick posts with PHILIPS SGS201 lanterns ( SONT BULBS , SELC miniature photocells ) .The posts were painted grey .
